What you need to know about Sustainable Printing
Is Fashion bad for our health?
We are all guilty of those little purchases that we don’t need but want (!) - from a delicious snack to a cheeky bottle of Merlot, or a new pair of jeans and a top to match. We may look to check our pizza box is recyclable and happy that our wine bottle is ready to be re-cycled - but what about our clothes?
Do we wonder what happens when they no longer fit (after pizza and wine!!) or simply they are not the fashion of today? Do we ever question how the items were made, from cotton growth to manufacture? Sadly the majority of us do not. This is one of the reasons that the Fashion Industry is a major culprit in pollution and waste.
Did you know (these shocking facts)?
Did you know that whilst the unwanted jeans are lying in a landfill centre for 30-40 years that are releasing a dangerous chemical methane gas into our world whilst decomposing?
Did you know that when you wash your clothes micro fibres, plastics and chemicals get into the water system and ultimately in the ocean damaging all forms sea life?
Did you know that to make one pair of jeans it takes approximately 1800 gallons of water in the growth of the cotton, add in 1.5 KW of energy and 5 ounces of chemicals?
Did you know that 2,700 litres of water are used in the growth of cotton for one t-shirt which is almost 3 years of drinks water for an adult.
Shocking facts I am sure to will agree.
Unsurprisingly the fashion industry is addressing this, with organically and sustainably grown cotton, recycled fabrics and non toxin inks. So far we have only mentioned the actual garments - what about the designs that are printed, and how they are printed - sadly this too has a carbon footprint and effects our planet. Sustainable t-shirt printing - in fact all garment printing is also being addressed by the fashion industry, and print on demand businesses like us.
How does Your Design play a part in sustainable printing?
We cannot manufacture garments but we can be (and we are) responsible with the garments we select! In addition we only print direct to garment - cutting out any plastics and transfers for printing our personalised t-shirts and personalised hoodies - in fact all our fabric products. We are proud to say we print using the latest technology Kornit Digital Printers. Vegan, Eco Friendly, Toxin Free printing support sustainability.
What makes Kornit Digital Printing Environmentally Friendly?
A waterless solution - using ink jet technology ink is forced straight on to the fabric, coated printed and cured in one go!

Organic garments - are they a good choice?
Yes! By selecting organic you are doing your bit too. We have a range of personalised organic t-shirts, team this with with Kornit vegan inks you would have a sustainable garment with printed Eco friendly non toxin inks. It's a good choice.
